The PPGQ is intended for individuals holding a full undergraduate degree and a Higher Education Course in Technology granted by an official Higher Education Institution or recognized by the National Education Council in the major areas of Exact and Earth Sciences (Degree in Chemistry, Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry with Technological Attribution, Industrial Chemistry), Engineering (Chemical Engineering, Production Engineering with an emphasis on Chemistry) and Biological and Health Sciences (Pharmacy, Biology – Degree and Bachelor’s Degree) and other related areas that align with the Program’s research lines, at the discretion of the PPGQ, respecting the recommendations in the Selection Notices.
An important differential is that the student takes all the courses at night. However, the experimental part of the dissertation or thesis is carried out full-time in the laboratories located at the Chemistry Institute/UERJ and/or at the UERJ Technology School in Resende, as the case may be. Depending on the availability of the advisor and the dissertation topic, the experimental part may be conducted at night or on Saturdays at IQ/UERJ or at the external company. It is important to note that PPGQ does not guarantee the possibility of conducting the experimental part at night or at an external company. Students are advised to discuss these options with their potential advisors before deciding.
The master’s and doctoral programs are not entirely at night, only the courses!
